Where is Amboseli National Park located?

Amboseli National Park is located in southern Kenya, close to the border with Tanzania. It’s a 4-5 hour trip from Nairobi, and it’s known for its stunning vistas of Mount Kilimanjaro rising over the huge grassland.

Amboseli is most renowned for its huge herds of elephants, the beautiful view of Kilimanjaro, and the great wildlife watching all year round. It’s one of the greatest spots in Africa to take pictures of animals in front of beautiful scenery.

There are elephants, lions, cheetahs, zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, and more than 400 types of birds in the park. It’s also an excellent site to see predators and watch big groups of herbivores move over the broad plains.

The Best times to visit Kenya are from June to October and from January to February, when animals concentrate near water sources, and you can see them clearly for photography and game viewing.

Most people who come to Amboseli spend two to three days there. You have ample time for many game drives, birding, excursions to Maasai settlements to learn about their culture, and taking beautiful pictures of Kilimanjaro at sunrise and sunset.
