The reserve is known for its unusual “Samburu Special Five” – Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, and Beisa oryx – which are rarely found elsewhere in Kenya. Over 900 elephants roam freely, providing excellent viewing chances.
