One trip, the right people

A big birthday, a reunion, a group of friends, three generations. Going private means you set the pace, the dinner table is yours, and nobody is waiting on a coach.

Your own guides and your own vehicles the whole way. Two cars for a group of twelve, and they stop for the same leopard.

We build the itinerary around your group, from the first night in Arusha to the last sundowner, and we're the people who run it, not an agent selling someone else's trip.

What it costs

What a private group safari costs, per person

Per person, twin share, for your time on the ground: private guide and 4x4, lodges, and every park fee. International flights sit on top. Where you land depends on your lodges, the season and group size.

Budget

$5,150-6,600

per person

Comfortable lodges and tented camps in good locations. The essentials done properly, with a private guide and vehicle throughout.

Mid-range · most popular

$6,600-10,300

per person

Characterful lodges and classic camps in prime locations, timed to the migration. Where most Kingse trips land.

Luxury

$10,300+

per person

The marquee camps, fly-in between parks, private everything. Singita, &Beyond, Four Seasons and their peers.

Prices are per person, twin share. Traveling as a group of eight or more? Ask about group pricing when you inquire. Someone coming on their own can take their own room, and we show the single supplement plainly rather than bury it. A 50% deposit locks the dates and the balance is due 60 days before you fly; inside 60 days it's paid in full.

Where you'll go

The parks that make the Northern Circuit

Lioness in the Serengeti

The Serengeti

Endless plains, big cats in real numbers, and the stage for the Great Migration. The Mara River crossings run July to October. We place you where the herds will be for your dates, never the other way around.

View across the Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro Crater

A collapsed volcanic caldera holding the densest predator population in Africa. Black rhino, lion, flamingo and elephant, often all in a single morning on the crater floor.

Elephant herd in Tarangire

Tarangire

Baobab country, and the elephant capital of the north. Herds hundreds strong along the river, and a fraction of the vehicles you'll see elsewhere. An easy, rewarding start to the circuit.

The Great Migration across the Serengeti plains

Two cars, one guide team, and nobody you didn't bring.

Tell us your dates and we'll build the trip around your group.

Camps that take a whole group

Friends together on a game drive in Tanzania
10 to 12 travelers

Exclusive-use camps

For groups of ten to twelve, some of the smaller camps can be taken over entirely, so the whole place is yours. Tell us your dates and we'll show you which ones fit.

When to go

The season shapes the safari

Wildebeest crossing the Mara River
Peak season

June to October

The bush thins, animals gather at water, and visibility peaks. The Mara River crossings run July to October, the most intense wildlife spectacle on the planet. The best lodges book out 6 to 12 months ahead.

Lioness on the southern Serengeti plains during calving season
Calving season

January to March

Around 8,000 calves born a day on the southern Serengeti plains, and every predator in the ecosystem drawn in. Green, lush, soft light, and exceptional for photography. A favorite of repeat travelers.

Flamingos on a soda lake in the green season
Green season

April-May & Nov-Dec

Dramatic skies, peak birding, fewer vehicles and lower rates. November and December's short rains rarely disrupt drives, a quiet sweet spot many travelers miss.

The practical questions

Good to know before you ask

How many vehicles do we get?+
One Land Cruiser for every six people, each with its own guide. A group of twelve travels as two cars that stay together and stop for the same sightings.
Can we mix doubles, twins and singles?+
Yes. Tell us who's sharing with whom and we'll set the rooms up that way at every lodge. Anyone on their own can take a single room, and we'll show you that cost plainly.
How does paying work for a group?+
Tell us how you'd like to pay, one lead booker or each couple separately, and we'll set the invoices up to suit. A 50% deposit locks the dates and the balance is due 60 days before you fly.
What if someone drops out?+
Lodge terms vary by property and season, so we spell the cancellation terms out in writing before you pay a deposit. No surprises later.
Is there a minimum group size?+
Private departures make sense from about six. Couples and smaller parties book our standard private safari.
Do we need visas?+
Yes, every traveler needs their own passport and visa. Tanzania issues e-visas online through the official immigration portal, and we'll point you to it once you book.

No middlemen, just us

It started with a beer in the Serengeti

Back in 2023 I took my mum to Tanzania. Pete was our guide. By the end of the week we'd shared more beers than I can count and I'd made a mate for life.

I'm a country-town kid from Australia, spent years in construction before this. Pete grew up in Karatu, right on the doorstep of the parks, and he's one of the best guides in the country. Three years on, he's our Senior Guide.

We design your trip from Australia. Our own senior guides run it on the ground in Tanzania. No agents, no call center, nobody taking a cut in the middle. When you book with us, you get us, the same team who answer the phone, pick your camps, and want you coming home telling everyone about it.

“Everyone should be so lucky to have someone like Peter guide them through Tanzania. His 20+ years of experience mean he can predict animal behavior, knows where to go and where to stop, and how to position the vehicle for the best views and most exciting encounters.”

“Peter was more than a guide. He became our friend. He found game that others were not seeing and was able to cater to our whole family’s needs, including our son’s neurodiverse requirements on long journeys. One of the most magical experiences of our life.”
