Tanzania gives you the wildlife. Zanzibar gives you the wind-down. Put them together and you get the best two weeks in East Africa: lions and elephants on the plains, then your toes in the Indian Ocean. The tricky part is the joins, the flights, the timing, the transfers. That's the part we handle, so you never have to think about it.
You book once, with one team, and the whole trip just flows.
Sample trips
The full two-week combo, a few beach days bolted onto a safari, or the island on its own. All built to your dates and priced properly once we know them.

Add to any safari
Four beach nights bolted onto your Tanzania safari. An optional Stone Town overnight, then a beach base on the east coast or up north at Nungwi. The standard safari decompression.

Northern Circuit + 5N beach
The Kingse default for honeymooners and families. Eight or nine safari nights through Tarangire, Ngorongoro and Serengeti, a Stone Town overnight, then four or five beach nights to finish.

Stone Town + beach week
Two Stone Town nights for spice tours, Prison Island and the Forodhani night market, then five beach nights with an optional Mnemba snorkel day and a Safari Blue dhow trip.
What it costs
Per person, twin share, for the full safari and beach combination on the ground: private guide and 4x4, lodges and island hotel, internal flights and park fees. International flights sit on top.
AUD 5,000-9,000
per person
Comfortable safari lodges and a good beach hotel. The essentials done properly, private guide and vehicle on the safari leg.
AUD 9,000-14,000
per person
Characterful camps on safari and a quality beach resort to finish. Where most safari-and-beach combos land.
AUD 14,000+
per person
Marquee camps on the plains and a flagship island retreat like &Beyond Mnemba. Private everything, fly-in throughout.
How it flows
A short flight from the Serengeti drops you on the island. No backtracking, no airport scramble, we handle every join.

The Serengeti timed to the migration, big cats on the plains, and a Ngorongoro Crater day. Tarangire's elephants and baobabs to open the circuit.

A 1.5 to 2 hour flight from the Serengeti or Arusha straight to Zanzibar. Every transfer, internal flight and park fee is handled, so the trip just flows.

White sand and warm water, a Stone Town wander, spice farms, and a Mnemba snorkel if you want it. The wind-down after the wild.
One trip, one team, every flight and transfer handled. You just enjoy it.
Start planningWhere you'll stay
We keep the standard consistent across the safari and the beach. A taste at each level, all places we've stayed.

When to go
The good news for a combo: the safari and the beach peak at the same time.

Dry-season game viewing and the Mara River crossings on safari, cool low-humidity weather and the best beach conditions on the island. The standout window, and it books out early.

The calving season on the southern Serengeti, and hot, dry, peak beach weather on Zanzibar. The Australian-summer-holiday window, and a lovely time to travel.

The long rains. Some beach hotels close and the islands are at their wettest. November's short rains are less disruptive. We'll steer you to the right weeks.
The practical questions
No middlemen, just us
Back in 2023 I took my mum to Tanzania. Pete was our guide. By the end of the week we'd shared more beers than I can count and I'd made a mate for life.
I'm a country-town kid from Australia, spent years in construction before this. Pete grew up in Karatu, right on the doorstep of the parks, and he's one of the best guides in the country. Three years on, we run Kingse together.
I design your trip from the Gold Coast. Pete runs the safari on the ground, and we line up the flights and the island so it all feels like one holiday, not two bookings stapled together. No agents, no call centre. You get the two of us, start to finish.

“Pete is one of the most hospitable, knowledgeable and passionate people I’ve ever met. From the moment we woke up each day to when we went to sleep, everything was handled so smoothly. We were shown every side of what makes Tanzania so special.”

“Everyone should be so lucky to have someone like Peter guide them through Tanzania. His 20+ years of experience mean he can predict animal behaviour, knows where to go and where to stop, and how to position the vehicle for the best views and most exciting encounters.”

“Peter was more than a guide. He became our friend. He found game that others were not seeing and was able to cater to our whole family’s needs, including our son’s neurodiverse requirements on long journeys. One of the most magical experiences of our life.”
