This safari cost calculator gives you a realistic price per person for a private safari in Tanzania and Zanzibar, in Australian dollars. It's based on the safaris we've actually quoted for 2027, for two people sharing, so you see what trips like yours really cost rather than a "from" price nobody pays.
Your lodges or camps with meals, a private vehicle and guide, park and conservation fees, airport meet and greet, and the flights within Africa that your route needs. It's a safari price, from your first night to your last day on the ground.
International flights to Africa, travel insurance, visas, tips and personal spending aren't included. Flights from Australia move with the season, so we price them once you're ready to book.
Season. Peak months (July to October) cost more than the green season (March to May), though usually less than people expect. The best-placed camps for the river crossings fill first, so many guests book up a level in peak months.
Lodge style. Classic, Premium, Luxury and Ultra Luxury is the biggest lever on your total, bigger than the number of nights.
Group size. A private vehicle and guide cost the same whether two or four of you are in the truck, so the price per person falls as your group grows. Four travelling together typically save around A$150 to A$200 per person per night. Travelling solo costs more per person.
