What luxury means with us

The room is only part of it

A beautiful lodge in the wrong spot is a long drive every morning. We start with where you'll be, who you'll be with, and what it really costs.

01

Your own guide and vehicle

Every day runs at your pace. Stay with a pride as long as you like, head out before sunrise, come back when the light goes. No shared vehicle and no group timetable.

02

Lodges chosen for where they sit

Sayari is the closest permanent camp to the Mara River. Four Seasons looks over a waterhole the elephants walk up to. The Highlands sits on the slopes of Olmoti above the crater. Location first, then the room.

The price, up front

Each trip below shows what it costs per person at 2027 rates, twin share, in Australian dollars. Your own quote is built for your dates, with what isn't included listed plainly.

Private means private

The lions are still asleep. You can wait.

On a shared drive, someone always wants to move on. With your own guide and vehicle, the day bends around you: an early start for the crater floor, a long lunch in the shade, another hour at the river because something might happen.

Our guides are Tanzanian, and they're ours. We plan every day of your trip before you leave Australia, and we're on the end of the phone while you're there.

Three ways to do it

Luxury trips, priced in full

Three starting points. Every lodge, night and park can change; these show what a trip at this level really costs.

A tented suite at Namiri Plains at dusk on the eastern Serengeti plains
Namiri Plains

6 nights · any month but April

The short one: seven days

Tarangire and the crater by road with your own guide, two nights on a coffee farm above the crater, then a light aircraft into the Serengeti for three nights at Asilia's Namiri Plains, out on the eastern plains with the camp's own guides. The right trip if you have a week and want it to feel unhurried.

A$11,100 per person

Travelling in May 2027. August, the peak month at Namiri, is about A$19,400. Two adults sharing, international flights extra.

12 nights · June to March

Safari and Zanzibar

The pairing most Australians choose, done at the top end. Tarangire from a treehouse, the crater from a coffee farm, three nights at Four Seasons in the central Serengeti, then a short flight to four nights on the beach at Kiwengwa, on Zanzibar's quiet east coast.

A$19,800 per person

Travelling in March 2027. About A$22,300 in June and A$23,900 in August. Two adults sharing, international flights extra.

Day by day

Day 1, Arusha. Met at Kilimanjaro airport and driven to Gran Meliá Arusha, set in coffee and tea gardens below Mount Meru. An easy evening after the flight.

Days 2 and 3, Tarangire. South with your guide to Elewana Tarangire Treetops, rooms raised among the baobab and marula trees with a balcony over the plains. A full day in Tarangire, among its elephant herds.

Days 4 and 5, Ngorongoro. Up into the green highlands to Gibb's Farm, a working coffee farm above Karatu with farm-to-table meals. Day 5 starts early with a dawn descent into the Ngorongoro Crater, before the floor gets busy.

Days 6 to 8, central Serengeti. A full day of game drives on the way into the Serengeti, then two more days out with your guide from Four Seasons Safari Lodge, built around a kopje and a waterhole the elephants walk right up to.

Day 9, Zanzibar. A morning flight from the Serengeti to Zanzibar and a transfer to Meliá Zanzibar at Kiwengwa.

Days 9 to 12, the beach. Four nights at Meliá Zanzibar, all-inclusive, in tropical gardens above a long white beach and a coral reef.

Day 13, home. Transfer to Zanzibar airport for your flight home.

Sayari Camp

10 nights · July to October

Four Seasons and the Mara River

Built for the river season. Tarangire and the crater first, two nights at Four Seasons, then three nights at Sayari, the closest permanent camp to the Mara River. You fly out from the north, so there's no long drive back.

A$33,100 per person

Travelling in September 2027. July is about the same, at A$33,200. Two adults sharing, international flights extra.

Day by day

Day 1, Arusha. Met at Kilimanjaro airport and driven to Gran Meliá Arusha for a quiet first night.

Days 2 and 3, Tarangire. South with your guide to Elewana Tarangire Treetops, raised rooms among the baobabs on a private concession bordering the park. A full day in Tarangire among its elephant herds.

Days 4 and 5, Ngorongoro. Up to The Highlands, eight domed suites high on the slopes of Olmoti. Day 5 starts before light for a dawn descent into the Ngorongoro Crater.

Days 6 and 7, central Serengeti. Game drives all the way into the Serengeti, arriving at Four Seasons Safari Lodge, built around a kopje and a waterhole that brings elephants right up to the terraces.

Days 8 to 10, northern Serengeti. North with game drives on the way to Sayari Camp. July to October is when the herds are in the north and the crossings happen. They keep no timetable, but this is the season and the place to be.

Day 11, home. A short flight from Kogatende to Arusha, then a transfer to Kilimanjaro airport for your flight home.

How these prices work. They're 2027 prices for two adults sharing, worked out in October 2026 from each lodge's own 2027 rates and converted to Australian dollars at that day's exchange rate. Safari costs are set in US dollars, so the Australian dollar figure moves a little with the exchange rate.

Season matters most: the same lodge costs more from July to October and over Christmas. Your quote is built for your exact dates, and once we've invoiced your trip the price doesn't change.
