Getting around
This is a sample itinerary, not a package. Every lodge, day and park can change. Get in touch and we design your trip from scratch.
An example itinerary, built to flex
There's a right order to a honeymoon out here, and it's bush first, beach second. The safari is early starts, dust, adrenaline and full days. Zanzibar is the exhale. Do it the other way around and you trade your rested beach days for 5am alarms. So we never do.
This is the shape most of our couples settle on. Pete, our co-founder, guides the safari leg himself, the same vehicle and the same face for six days, which is when a trip stops feeling like a tour. Then a light aircraft lifts you off the plains and you finish with your feet in the Indian Ocean.
Day by Day
Here is the trip as it stands. Every day of it can move, stretch or swap, this is a starting point, not a fixed package.

Day 1
Met at Kilimanjaro and driven to Gran Melia Arusha, calm and polished with Mount Meru filling the window. Prefer trees to towers? Kaliwa Lodge in the Kilimanjaro foothills is the quieter swap. Either way, nothing is scheduled tonight. You've just got married. Sleep.
Overnight

Day 2
Pete collects you after breakfast and you drive west to the Great Rift Valley wall. Your base for two nights is Lake Manyara Kilimamoja Lodge, set right on the escarpment edge with the lake silver below. Settle in, then a sundowner on the rim as the valley turns gold.
Overnight

Day 3
A full game-drive day in Tarangire, where the baobabs stand like monuments and the elephant herds are the biggest in northern Tanzania. Picnic lunch in the park, families of elephants crossing the river in the heat, then back up the wall to Kilimamoja for a second night.
Overnight

Day 4
Through the Karatu corridor (if you'd like a grounding hour, the Nanyaro school visit slots in here) and down onto the Ngorongoro crater floor for the day. Lion, rhino and flamingo inside a collapsed volcano. Tonight is the splurge: Karibu Lion's Paw Camp, right on the rim, so tomorrow you wake to sunrise over the whole caldera.
Overnight

Day 5
Crater rim coffee at first light, then down the highlands and out onto the plains, game-driving the whole way in. By late afternoon you're on the terrace at Melia Serengeti Lodge above the Mbalageti valley, watching the resident herds drift past below your room.
Overnight

Day 6
A whole day in the central Serengeti with Pete reading the grass, lion on the kopjes, cheetah hunting the open ground. The optional extra here is the dawn hot-air balloon: an hour drifting over the waking plains, then a champagne breakfast where you land. Plenty of couples call it the morning of the trip.
Overnight

Day 7
One last sunrise drive to the Seronera airstrip, then about an hour in a bush plane and a short connection puts you on Zanzibar by afternoon (soft bags only on these flights, we brief you on the limit well before you pack). Your base is Gold Zanzibar Beach House & Spa on the powder-white north coast. If you'd rather the reef-and-tide east coast, Melia Zanzibar is the swap.
Overnight

Day 8
No alarm, no vehicle, no plan. Breakfast late, the beach, the pool, a long lunch, maybe the spa. After six days of bush mornings this is the point of doing the trip in this order, and you'll feel it by about 10am.
Overnight

Day 9
Today is yours to shape: snorkelling the reefs off Mnemba Atoll, a swim with wild dolphins off the south coast, lunch on a sandbank that disappears with the tide, a wander through Stone Town's carved doorways, or simply a sunset dhow sail with the sails creaking and a drink in hand. Pick one, pick two, or pick none.
Overnight

Day 10
A last slow morning on the sand, then a private transfer to Zanzibar's airport for the flight home. You leave with a camera full of lions and a week and a half that actually felt like a honeymoon, not a checklist.

Where You Sleep
Lodges flex with your dates, your group and the season. If something is full or you fancy a step up at one stop, we swap it and re-cost on the spot.
The Investment
Twin share, excluding international flights. That works out around AUD $1,090 per person per night for the mid-luxury blend, all-inclusive on safari.
What's included
Not included
From-pricing is a starting anchor on a two-person sharing basis. Honeymooners often step single nights up or down, an extra night on the crater rim here, the balloon in or out there, and the quote flexes with each change. Every Kingse quote is built live against the day's lodge, park and flight rates for your exact dates, never from a brochure.
