Getting around
A set safari, built to flex
This is the honest, no-fuss version of the trip that put Tanzania on the map. You'll see every park the big-budget travellers see, Tarangire, Lake Manyara, the Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti, sleep in comfortable lodges and tented camps along the way, and travel the whole loop by road with your own Kingse guide.
We've built it around the Africa Safari Group lodges, a well-run chain we know and trust, plus a night at the original wildlife lodge right on the crater rim. No bush flights, no frills you don't need, just a genuinely good safari at a price that makes the trip happen.
Day by Day
Here is the trip as it stands. Every day of it can move, stretch or swap, this is a starting point, not a fixed package.

Day 1
Your Kingse guide meets you at Kilimanjaro Airport and runs you the short way into Arusha. Tonight is about a hot shower, a proper feed and a good sleep before the bush.
Overnight

Day 2
We head south-west into Tarangire, all ancient baobabs and elephant. In the dry months the herds gather along the river in their hundreds. Game drive through the afternoon, then up onto the Rift escarpment for the night.
Overnight

Day 3
A morning in Lake Manyara: groundwater forest, flamingo-pink shallows and the park's famous tree-climbing lions. In the afternoon Pete takes you into his community at Mto wa Mbu, the kind of visit no big operator can offer.
Overnight

Day 4
We climb to the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater and settle into the original lodge perched right on the edge, with the whole caldera falling away below your window. Sundowner with a view you won't forget.
Overnight

Day 5
An early descent onto the crater floor for a few hours among lion, elephant, buffalo and the crater's resident black rhino. Back up by lunch, then west into the Serengeti as the plains open out around you.
Overnight

Day 6
Dawn to dusk in the Serengeti. We follow the game wherever it leads, and the season sets the stage, calving in the south, the river crossings up north. Long unhurried hours, then back to camp under a sky full of stars.
Overnight

Day 7
A last morning drive, then the long, scenic run back across the Rift to Kilimanjaro for your flight home. Add the beach and we'll point you to Zanzibar instead.

Where You Sleep
Lodges flex with your dates, your group and the season. If something is full or you fancy a step up at one stop, we swap it and re-cost on the spot.
The Investment
Twin share, excluding international flights. That works out around AUD $870 per person per night, all-inclusive on safari.
What's included
Not included
From-pricing is a starting anchor on a two-person sharing basis. Every Kingse quote is built live against the day's lodge, park and flight rates for your exact dates and group, never from a brochure. International flights you book yourself, so you keep your points and your routing.
Get this costed for your datesAdd the beach
Trade the plains for the Indian Ocean. After your last morning we fly you across to Zanzibar for four nights on the east coast, easy beach days, a Stone Town wander and a spice farm if you fancy it. Comfortable beachfront rooms, all transfers and your flight from the mainland included.
Beach base: Reef & Beach Resort
From AUD $1,800 pp
Zanzibar charges a visitor insurance fee (about USD 44 per person, paid online before you travel) and a small infrastructure levy (about USD 5 per person per night, paid at your hotel). We flag both in your pre-departure pack so you land prepared.

Same route, different level of comfort. Mix and match freely, plenty of our travellers land somewhere in between.
Tell us your dates and how many of you there are, and we'll build this exact trip around them, or tweak it however you like. No obligation, no pressure, just a real quote built live.
