Getting around
A set safari, built to flex
This is the Kingse sweet spot, and the trip most of our Australian travellers choose. Same iconic route, stepped up to characterful lodges and the well-loved Serena properties built right into the landscape, with three full nights in the Serengeti so you're never rushing the best part.
You drive the scenic southern arc with your own guide, then skip the long haul home: a light aircraft lifts you off the plains on the last morning and has you back in Arusha in under two hours. More time with the animals, less time in the seat.
Day by Day
Here is the trip as it stands. Every day of it can move, stretch or swap, this is a starting point, not a fixed package.

Day 1
Met at Kilimanjaro and settled into Arusha Coffee Lodge, a cluster of chalets in a working coffee farm minutes from the airport. A quiet first night and a real bed before the early start.
Overnight

Day 2
South to Tarangire, where baobabs stand like sentinels and the dry-season elephant herds are the largest in the north. A full afternoon on game drives, then to your tented camp above the Tarangire River.
Overnight

Day 3
A morning game drive in Lake Manyara, then we climb toward the crater highlands. Pete brings you into his community near Mto wa Mbu along the way. Tonight you sleep on the crater rim itself.
Overnight

Day 4
Down onto the crater floor early, while the light is soft and the predators are still working. Big Five is a real possibility before lunch. Then we descend the far side and drive into the Serengeti.
Overnight

Day 5
A whole day to give the Serengeti the time it deserves. Your guide reads the plains and positions you for the action, lion on a kopje, a cheetah on the hunt, the herds moving with the season.
Overnight

Day 6
Another full day on the plains, with the option of a dawn hot-air balloon flight and champagne breakfast in the grass (worth every cent if the budget stretches). Afternoon drive, then a last Serengeti night.
Overnight

Day 7
A final morning game drive, then a light aircraft lifts you back to Arusha to connect with your flight home, or onward to Zanzibar if you've added the beach.

Where You Sleep
Lodges flex with your dates, your group and the season. If something is full or you fancy a step up at one stop, we swap it and re-cost on the spot.
The Investment
Twin share, excluding international flights. That works out around AUD $1,580 per person per night, all-inclusive on safari.
What's included
Not included
From-pricing is a starting anchor on a two-person sharing basis. Every Kingse quote is built live against the day's lodge, park and flight rates for your exact dates and group, never from a brochure. International flights you book yourself, so you keep your points and your routing.
Get this costed for your datesAdd the beach
Round the safari off on the Indian Ocean. We fly you straight from the Serengeti to Zanzibar for four nights at a relaxed beach club on the east coast, half-board, with all transfers and the flight included. Stone Town, a spice tour and a dhow sail are all on the table.
Beach base: Breezes Beach Club & Spa
From AUD $3,800 pp
Zanzibar charges a visitor insurance fee (about USD 44 per person, paid online before you travel) and a small infrastructure levy (about USD 5 per person per night, paid at your hotel). We flag both in your pre-departure pack so you land prepared.

Compare
Same route, different level of comfort. Mix and match freely, plenty of our travellers land somewhere in between.
Tell us your dates and how many of you there are, and we'll build this exact trip around them, or tweak it however you like. No obligation, no pressure, just a real quote built live.
